Paul Stanley - Software Developer

Background

Paul was born 29-Sep-1959 in Southport, Lancashire. Married Tracey Collins a New Zealander in May 2006.

Interests include walking, guitar, chess and meditation.

Education

Between 1978 - 1981 Paul studied Civil Engineering at Leeds University, from where he obtained a 1st class BSc Hons. During the course he was introduced to programming and it this was, rather than engineering, that Paul decided to make his career.

Employment

In 1981 Paul started working as a programmer for a software house that eventually became part of SD-SCICON PLC. Promotion lead him to eventually become a System Designer and Team Leader. The projects were industrial real-time control systems and took him as far as South Korea as part of the commissioning team.

In 1989 Paul needed a new challenge and moved to a small start-up company Digital Image Applications, specialising in text retrieval. Here a much wider range of responsibilities included accounts, sales, customer support as well as software developer.

In 1991 Paul started his own software development consultancy - Paul Stanley Software.
