Database applications should allow users to easily query, update and add information.

I have developed a standard design template used in many of my applications. This consists of an integrated toolbar and 3 page views: Filter, List and Detail.

Filter Page

Users can easily specify the records they want to work with. A default filter, such as all records, or the last 3 months, can be applied when the form is first opened.

List Page

This page lists all the records that meet the filter criteria together with a record count and total fields for net and outstanding amounts. Double clicking on a list entry brings up the detail view.

Detail Page

This page allows editing and entry of new records.
